At Bihorns, we don’t rely on guesswork. Every pilot nozzle, mixing throat, and exit port is engineered using
advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD), stoichiometry, and rigorous laboratory testing.

The Science of Flame Stability

We developed our proprietary perfectly tuned Venturi Geometry by studying the Francis momentum equations.
This allows our pilots to self-aspirate perfectly, even in zero-draft conditions.

1. Isentropic Gas Flow

Using the ISO 5167 Bernoulli discharge equation, we calculate exact mass flow rates. Our standard Ø0.80mm and Ø1.1mm nozzles are calibrated to deliver reasonable propane consumption for economic operation and optimal kinetic energy at 10-15 PSI.

2. Francis Momentum Entrainment

Our unique-degree air inlet angle forces the high-velocity propane jet to shear the incoming air, creating a highly turbulent, perfectly homogenized mixture before it reaches the spark.

3. Damköhler Optimization

We tuned our mixing tube to provide a ~sonic-speed millisecond residence time. This guarantees the chemical reaction occurs exactly at the exit ports, preventing internal flashback.
